A Must Watch for the Summer

14 Jun

I recently stumbled upon ABC Family’s new show “Pretty Little Liars” based on the series of  young adult novels by Sara Shepard. “The series follows the lives of four girls — Spencer, Hanna, Aria, and Emily — whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their leader, Alison. Three years later, they begin receiving text messages from someone using the name “A” who threatens to expose their secrets — including long-hidden ones they thought only Alison knew”.

The show is described as a mini “Desperate Housewives” since it follows the same path of some dying but mysteriously is still present.

I disagree. Aside from the fact that some died and the audience doesn’t know how it happened it just about the only thing linking the two shows. I think that Pretty Little Liars is a cross between Gossip Girl and some other equally tantalizing series I can’t think of at the moment.

As I watched the pilot episode last week I couldn’t help but become more and more interested in the characters and overall plot. On a whole I think this series has come right on time because once Gossip Girl and Glee ended I felt no need to watch TV and God knows I was not about to watch Secret life of the American Teenager! Absolutely Not.

I must also add the the fashion in the show is commendable. Its not too flashy. It is by far the closet I’ve seen to everyday clothing. So, thumbs up for that. But seriously, I think the story line is different and the show writers aren’t coming off cheesy or pressed to imitate anything. I think ABC has done good for once and I for one am excited.

I can’t wait to watch a new episode tomorrow night at 8pm! I dare you to try watching an episode and tell me your not hooked!

Here, check out a trailer video!

Yeah, I have missed the days of Dawson’s Creek where characters wore clothes we mortals could afford 🙂

I’ll look to see if it is on Hulu or ABC’s website and
    check it out!
